As you know I have been visiting lots of student exhibitions and have been both disappointed and blown away by some of the work I've seen. What I learnt in particular from these experiences was how I now can't decide whether to go down a fashion or interior route, whereas before I knew I preferred interior textiles.

Anyway I just thought I'd post some pages from my artist research sketchbook as I have been complimented on my presentation, not very exciting I'm afraid. I'll also include the beginnings of a book cover I am making. Seeing as my starting point is ultimately a book, we all have to make fabric covers for them. I started off with an idea and now I'm stuck.

Mimicking the colloseum. Reverse applique. I think I might applique on some imagery combining old and new Rome. Possibly felt leaves? A print of a vespa? Some leather high heels appliqued on?
