Malindi

Hello! I've now arrived in Malindi which is a small town about an hour away from Mombasa. After we got back from safari, Big Al and I spent the day having girl time in Nairobi. We minced around the shopping centre, tried on some clothes, had a latte and pastry at the swankiest cafe we could find and then headed back to the backpackers to watch Revolutionary Road and eat ice cream.

We had a 6:30am start and headed over to the bus stop to catch a TWELVE hour bus to Mombasa.. eUrGh. It was the first time I felt like a proper traveler because it was just me, Alice and our rucksacks jumping on different buses as opposed to having all our transport already arranged by AV. Driving into Mombasa was lush because it was literally just beach resort after beach resort after beach resort. When we arrived finally the girls ran out onto the road with glasses of wine and then we saw the pool and the sunbeds and instantly it felt like home. That was all yesterday but today it's raining which is hideous so Ana and I came to town for some mooching around.

Tomorrow we go off to Diani beach which is meant to have good nightlife and the whole white sand turquoise water thing so VERY EXCITING and NOT thinking about coming HOME :( Also going to be looking into scuba diving in Zanzibar and swimming with dolphins and snorkelling in Mombasa so lots of exciting things on the cards.
